The Sukhothai Bangkok: A Place Apart
The Sukhothai Bangkok takes its name from the capital of Thailand’s ancient Sukhothai Kingdom. The city thrived as a trade centre; news of its beauty, magnificent style and architecture spread far and wide. The temples of Sukhothai emphasised their stupa and chedi as primary design features.
The palaces of Sukhothai maintained an incomparable design and distinct style. Symmetrical colonnades, reflection pools, open-air arcades, combined with the best natural materials – bronze, teakwood and marble – together with fine fabrics and mirrors.
