The history of Best Western Plus Hotel Eyde can be traced all the way back to 1839, when the hotel was only the third building in Herning.
In 1856, however, Christiansminde Kro was sold to John Eyde , who was to have a significant role in the development in and around the inn. Eyde showed his foresight on several occasions, but one of his most notable actions was when he donated the building site for the Herning Church to the city.
